As we begin to apply what we’ve learned, we’re now entering the ‘how to do it’ portion of our understanding. In the Kingdom of God, we’re each responsible to make full use of, and build on, what we’ve been learning.

There are very few pats on the back for our Cherokee Police Officers. There are a few mentions during Tribal Council sessions while providing reports, but for the most part the officers go about their business with little thanks.

FOOTBALL: Big fourth quarter propels Braves over Robbinsville
After falling behind 18-12 at the end of third quarter, the Cherokee Braves (6-4, 3-2 in Smoky Mountain Conference) roared back with 13 points in the final quarter to topple Robbinsville 25-18.
FOOTBALL: Evans leads Braves over Andrews on drizzly night
The cold, drizzly rain fell intermittently throughout the game, but there was no stopping Isaiah Evans on the night of Friday, Oct. 21.
CROSS COUNTRY: Lambert wins Conference title
Darius Lambert, a sophomore member of the Cherokee Braves cross country team, ran a very fast first mile and never looked back as he took the conference title, winning by over 24 seconds, on Wednesday, Oct. 19.

OBITUARY: Thomas Leslie Lambert
Thomas “Tommy” Leslie Lambert, age 60, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021 at Cherokee Indian Hospital. He is the son of the late Rev. Thomas Herman Lambert and Marilyn Goforth Lambert.

Annie Welch French, age 87, of the Big Cove Community in Cherokee, passed away on Friday, Sept. 17, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Adam and Annie Powell Welch.
