CHS principal earns doctorate in education degree
The principal of Cherokee High School recently hit the pinnacle of educational achievement, but she is by no means finished with her education and learning. Debora Foerst defended her disquisition successfully on Wednesday, March 21 and will have her doctorate in education (EdD) degree conferred upon her from Western Carolina University in May.

BASKETBALL: Barnard signs to play at Converse College
Reagan Barnard, Lady Braves senior forward, will be a Valkyrie next season. She signed a letter of intent on Monday, April 20 to play basketball at Converse College in Spartanburg, SC.
Olympic pole vault athlete visits Cherokee Youth Center
Merritt Grace Van Meter, a Creek and Cherokee professional pole vault athlete currently training for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, visited with the 4th and 5th grade members of the Cherokee Youth Center over the course of several weeks to provide mentorship and promote healthy decision making skills.
