TVA repatriating remains of 86 ancestors to EBCI
The ancestral remains of 86 individuals are being repatriated to the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) from the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). They are from an archaeological dig in the northern part of Alabama in Lauderdale County.

WRESTLING: Braves fall to Swain in Conference opener
The Cherokee Braves wrestling team fell to the Swain County Maroon Devils by a team score of 54-22 in a home meet on Tuesday, Dec. 15.
BASKETBALL: Braves fall to undefeated Yellow Jackets
The Cherokee Braves (5-2) had a tough road trip to Hayesville on Tuesday, Dec. 15. Two Yellow Jackets had over 20 points including Braxton Cox (21) and Zachary Cottrell (28) as Hayesville remained undefeated (4-0) with a 92-68 win.
BASKETBALL: Lady Braves get big conference road win
In a game that was close until late in the third period, the Cherokee Lady Braves (5-2) got a key road win that may have big ramifications later on in the Smoky Mountain Conference. Led by Pooh King with 18 points, the Lady Braves won 56-42 over Hayesville who fell to 0-4 on the season.

Harold R. Rattler, of the Birdtown Community, went home to be with the Lord Monday, March 8, 2021.
OBITUARY: Florence Marie Lewis
Florence Marie Lewis, of Dade City, Fla., returned to the lord while asleep at home Sunday, March 7, 2021, after a two-and-half-year battle with chemical-induced pulmonary fibrosis. She was a member of Christ Fellowship in Tampa.
