Cherokee (2-3) pulled to within one game of .500 on the season with a 30-19 win at Brevard on Friday, Sept. 19. Cherokee never trailed in the game and caused four Brevard turnovers to take the key victory on the road.
GOLF: Lady Braves sweep the podium in Waynesville
Posting the lowest team score in the six-year history of Lady Braves golf, Cherokee took all three spots on the podium at the Donald Ross-designed, Carolina course at the Waynesville Inn match against the Highlands Lady Highlanders on Monday, Sept. 15.

Amanda Lynn George, 37 of the Wolftown Community, was called to her eternal home Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019. She is survived by her two children, whom she held in her heart as treasures, Breydan and Kieaira, and the love of her life, Roy Bradley. Amanda is the daughter of Martha and Calloway Ledford, and the late Vaughan Albert Sr.
