In their meeting Tuesday night (Sept. 7), members of the Cherokee Central Schools (CCS) Board of Education made it clear that they would be doing everything possible to stay open amid raising numbers of COVID-19 on the Qualla Boundary.

VETERANS CORNER: Lt. Lewis H. Harding – United States Navy
Lt. Lewis H. Harding, an EBCI tribal member, enlisted June 1957 in the United States Navy Reserve, and he completed basic training at Bainbridge, Md. He was then assigned to the Naval Reserve Station located in St. Petersburg, Fla.

The Cherokee Lady Braves battled the Swain Lady Maroon Devils, and the lack of any substitutes, during a home match on Monday, March 23.
GOLF: Ensley wins four-school match
The Cherokee golf team hosted the Highlands Highlanders, the Murphy Bulldogs, and the Hayesville Yellow Jackets in their first home match of the season at the Maggie Valley Club and Resort on Tuesday, Mar. 17.
