CCS Board meets final time before the school year begins
The Monday, Aug. 5 meeting of the Cherokee Central Schools (CCS) Board of Education was called to order at 4:45 p.m.
Tribal Court Docket for Aug. 7
This is a criminal docket date for the Cherokee Tribal Court. All of the defendants listed have only been charged with the crimes/offenses listed and should be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Veteran dies by suicide at the Charles George VA Medical Center
On Sunday, Aug. 4, at approximately 8:48 a.m., a veteran died by suicide in the visitor parking lot of Charles George VA Medical Center. The Asheville Police Department is investigating the incident.

McCoy makes history as a freshman
