Coronavirus prompts WCU to postpone May commencement ceremonies
In response to the ongoing global coronavirus pandemic, Western Carolina University is postponing all spring commencement ceremonies originally scheduled for May 8 and 9, and will announce by April 3 plans for rescheduling the events.

TRACK & FIELD: Cherokee hosts 1A West Regionals
Cherokee High School played host to the 1A West Regional meet on Saturday, May 4, and will be represented in four events at the state meet set for Friday, May 10 in Greensboro.
Qualla Boundary athletes compete at Special Olympics
The Qualla Boundary Special Olympics team traveled to Macon Middle School on Friday, May 3 to participate in the annual Far West Special Olympics Spring Games. The Qualla contingent consisted of 21 athletes and 25 volunteers as well as family, friends and supporters.
