Tribe takes a step forward on medical marijuana
Medical marijuana (also known as medical cannabis) has been a topic of discussion within the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) for the past five years.
Wolftown Gym to be re-named in memory of “Kool-Aide” Queen
The Wolftown Gym is being re-named in memory of a long-time employee of Cherokee Recreation and a man known as a gentle giant on the Qualla Boundary.
Transportation Center to be re-named in honor of Littlejohn
The Cherokee Transportation Center, which houses EBCI (Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians) Public Transit and the Cherokee Dept. of Transportation, is being re-named in honor of a Cherokee woman who helped to build the Transit program into what it is today.

“Step Ahead” meeting for EBCI seniors
EBCI seniors who are planning to attend college in the 2016-17 school year are required to attend a “Step Ahead” meeting presented by the EBCI Higher Education Department in order to qualify for funding from the Tribe.
June 2016 per capita deadlines
The deadline to submit direct deposit forms for the June 2016 per capita distribution will be Friday, April 1.
