The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) became 100 percent owners of Cherokee Cablevision last November. Now, stakeholders are gathering resources for a complete renovation of the business and its services.
Cherokee woman sentenced to 10 years for trafficking meth and other narcotics
Chief U.S. District Judge Martin Reidinger sentenced Lillian Elaine Brady, 53, Cherokee, to 10 years in prison and five years of supervised release on Thursday, Sept. 2 for trafficking methamphetamine, fentanyl and other narcotics, announced William T. Stetzer, Acting U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina.

Kendall Toineeta, Lady Braves senior point guard, is on a mission and she proved it Friday night. She scored 36 points to lead Cherokee to a 66-53 win over the Albemarle Lady Bulldogs in the 1A West Regional semifinals.
