EBCI (Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians) Tribal Council unanimously approved a budget increase of $1,380,000 for Cherokee Centrals Schools (CCS) during Annual Council on Monday, Oct. 24.

Martine “Mondo” Bird, age 30, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Oct. 18, 2021 at his residence. He is the son of the late Rachel Bird.

William D. Junaluska, of Cherokee, died on Sept. 27, 2021 with his wife, Marie Junaluska, by his side. William was born in Cherokee on Dec. 30, 1946 to the late Arch Junaluska Sr. and Wilma Taylor Junaluska. He was a lifelong resident of Cherokee.
