Missing Cherokee teen found safe
On the afternoon of Nov. 30, Victoria Cabrera-Davis, 17, was located by the Cherokee Indian Police Department (CIPD) after she had been missing since Nov. 16.
National Park Service investigating site selling fraudulent parking tags
The National Park Service (NPS) is investigating an online scam selling fraudulent parking tags to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Someone posing as the National Park Service is directing individuals and organizations to a website titled “Smokies Park Pass”.

Tim Hill Memorial Fish Tournament results
The 2022 Tim Hill Memorial Fish Tournament was held in Cherokee on July 8-9. A total of 232 anglers registered for the event with 55 tags being turned in out of the 237 tagged fish.

OBITUARY: Martin Willard Pepion
Martin Willard Pepion, age 47, Native to Cherokee, was called to his Heavenly home on Sunday, Aug. 13, 2023. He is the son of Julia and Kirk Lossiah.

Gene Rowland, 74, of Cherokee, went to Heaven to be with his girls on Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2023. A native of Cherokee, he was the son of Rowena Rowland of Cherokee and the late Ed Rowland.
