Catawbas seeking casino in North Carolina
The Catawba Indian Nation is seeking a casino near Kings Mountain, and a recent Senate bill would help pave the way for them to open up for business.
Tribal Court Docket for March 21
This is a criminal docket date for the Cherokee Tribal Court. All of the defendants listed have only been charged with the crimes/offenses listed and should be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Flores pleads to Abusive Sexual Contact
Arlen Flores, of Cherokee, pleaded guilty on Feb. 22 in Federal Court in Asheville to one count of Abusive Sexual Contact before the Honorable Carlton Metcalf.
