Museum of the Cherokee Indian to remain open; events cancelled
As the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread across the United States, the Museum of the Cherokee Indian has indicated it will remain open.

This is a criminal docket date for the Cherokee Tribal Court. All of the defendants listed have only been charged with the crimes/offenses listed and should be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

BASKETBALL: Braves are runner-up in SMC tourney
The Cherokee Braves (15-10) were the runner-up in this past week’s Big Smoky Mountain Conference tournament held at Swain County High School. After defeating Andrews 51-45 in the semi-finals, the Braves ran into shooting issues in the finals against Robbinsville on Friday, Feb. 20 losing 66-52.

BASKETBALL: Braves, Lady Braves advance to SMC finals
The Braves (15-9) and Lady Braves (22-2), both #1 seeds in the tournament, advanced to the finals of the Big Smoky Mountain Conference tournament with wins in the semi-final round on Thursday, Feb. 20 at Swain County High School. The Braves defeated #5 seed Andrews 51-45, and the Lady Braves defeated #5 seed Murphy 73-52.
