CCS School Board holds meeting on March 18
The School Board of Cherokee Central Schools (CCS) met on Monday, March 18 in the Central Office Board Room. The meeting was called to order at 4:44 p.m. by Chairperson Jennifer Thompson.

The School Board of Cherokee Central Schools (CCS) met on Monday, March 4, 2024, in a joint, special called meeting with the School Board of Swain County Schools (SCS) in the Swain East Media Center. CROSS COUNTRY: Cherokee teams compete in Hendersonville, Murphy
The Cherokee High School cross country team competed in the WNC Cross Country Carnival in Hendersonville on Saturday, Aug. 25, and the CMS team competed in the Valley River Mudder in Murphy on the same day.

Lossiah to receive Prestigious Art Award
EBCI tribal member Lucille Lossiah, of Cherokee, is one of six Native American artists being recognized by First Peoples Fund this year. The Fund announced last week artists from six states who will receive a prestigious 2011 Jennifer Easton Community Spirit Award fellowship.
