CCS School Board Holds June 18 Meeting
The School Board of Cherokee Central Schools met on June 18 in the Central Office Board Room. The meeting was called to order at 4:46 pm by Chairperson Jennifer Thompson.

Birdtown Gym to be re-named honoring Peaches Squirrell
The Birdtown Gym has been re-named for a person synonymous with basketball in the Cherokee community. The building will now be known as the Peaches Squirrell Sports and Recreation Complex.

Three members of the Cherokee Braves Varsity Wrestling Team placed at the 1A West Regional Championship at Mt. Airy High School on Saturday, Feb. 15 and punched their ticket for the State meet on Feb. 21-22 in Greensboro.
