The Cherokee Middle School girls cross country team continued its winning ways as they won the team championship at the Cherokee Invitational on Wednesday, Oct. 7.

The Cherokee JV Braves (1-5) finished their 2015 season on a high note as they hosted the Andrews JV Wildcats at Ray Kinsland Stadium on Thursday, Oct. 8. After a slow start by both teams, Cherokee’s offense began to click and they ran away with the game 42-14.

With a score of 41, the Cherokee Middle School girls cross country team won the Carney Classic Cross Country meet held Wednesday, Sept. 30 in Hayesville.

2015-2016 Braves, Lady Braves basketball schedule

Sometimes, when standing on the sidelines taking photographs at Cherokee football games, I laugh to myself when I see a big hit because it’s all a part of the game.

It was a tale of two halves as the Cherokee Braves (3-3) hosted the Murphy Bulldogs (5-1) at Ray Kinsland Stadium on Friday, Sept. 25.

The CHS Lady Braves golf team took second place at The Golf Club at Mill Creek on Tuesday, Sept. 15 in a match against Franklin, Highlands, Rabun Gap-Nacoochee, and Murphy.

This past week, Cherokee runners competed at meets in Murphy, Asheville.
