In a busy week on the hardwood, Cherokee got wins on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday to bring their record to 10-4 and remain unbeaten in the Big Smoky Mountain Conference. 

The Cherokee Braves improved to 11-3 on the season and remain unbeaten in the Big Smoky Mountain Conference with important wins over Hayesville, Robbinsville, and Rosman in a big week.  

Neither of Cherokee’s varsity basketball teams got off to a great start this year, but man has that turned around.

Kelsey Jackson was a multi-sport athlete while at Cherokee High School and was a proud member of the Lady Braves varsity basketball team.  The Class of 2011 alumnus is currently working to put together an alumni basketball game of former Lady Braves. 

Cherokee’s varsity basketball teams swept visiting Highlands in games at the Charles George Memorial Arena on the rainy evening of Friday, Jan. 12. – their fifth consecutive wins. 

This past Monday, most of us sports fans watched the College Football Playoff National Championship Game. 

Anglers from around the country will be fishing local waters in Cherokee to qualify for Fly-Fishing Team USA from Jan. 13-14.
