American Legion to host golf tournament
The Steve Youngdeer Post 143 of the American Legion announced today it will host the 9-11 Armed Forces Golf Classic at Sequoyah National Golf Club in Cherokee on Sept. 10-11.
Turnovers cost Braves against Mitchell
Cherokee (0-2) had more total offense (328yds to 232yds) than the Mitchell Mountaineers (2-0), but three lost fumbles (four total) and two interceptions proved costly for the Braves once again as they fell 38-2 on Friday, Aug. 26.
Sequoyah Classic draws 138 golfers
One hundred and thirty-eight golfers took to the links on Thursday, Aug. 25 and Friday, Aug. 26 at Sequoyah National Golf Club to participate in the Sixth Annual Sequoyah Classic, a two-day fundraising golf tournament.
