American Legion to host golf tournament

     The Steve Youngdeer Post 143 of the American Legion announced today it will host the 9-11 Armed Forces Golf Classic at Sequoyah National Golf Club in Cherokee on Sept. 10-11.  All funds will benefit the Vietnam Veterans Traveling Wall coming to Cherokee in 2012 and other services of the Steve Youngdeer Post of the American Legion.

     Included in the event will be a free golf clinic provided by Sequoyah National, along with fly-fishing classes and a guided rafting tour provided by Rivers Edge Outfitters on September 10. Tournament participants are also offered a special rate at Sequoyah National Golf Club on September 10, the day before the tournament. Registration for the golf tournament begins September 11 at 8 a.m. with a shotgun-start at 9 a.m. and an awards ceremony and dinner immediately following.
