The Cherokee Cablevision (CCV) Board has made the decision to make every home and business in Phases 1 and 2 fiber-ready, regardless of current service interest.
Mingo Falls Revitalization celebrated with Ribbon Cutting
The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) celebrated the completion of the Mingo Falls revitalization project with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, Sept. 24.
Federal legislative updates of interest to EBCI citizens (Sept. 22)

112th Annual Cherokee Indian Fair celebrates “The Adventure of the Aniyvwayahi” Theme
The 112th Annual Cherokee Indian Fair is fast approaching, running from Oct. 1-5. This year’s theme, “Adventures of Aniyvwiyahi: The Principal People,” celebrates the remarkable journeys of our ancestors and the ongoing triumphs of the Cherokee people today.
One Feather wins 10 N.C. Press Association awards
The Cherokee One Feather won a total of 10 awards in the 2024 North Carolina Press Association Editorial and Advertising Awards announced on the evening of Thursday, Sept. 19 at the annual convention in Raleigh, N.C.
Endowment for Cherokee Hospital Foundation established at North Carolina Community Foundation
The Cherokee Indian Hospital Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports the well-being of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) by strengthening the Cherokee Indian Hospital Authority and the clinics that comprise it, has a new endowment at the North Carolina Community Foundation that will provide ongoing support for hospital employees.

JV FOOTBALL: Braves finish season with victory over Maroon Devils
The Cherokee JV Braves finished the season on a good note with a 20-0 win over the Swain Co. Maroon Devils on the drizzly night of Thursday, Oct. 7 at Ray Kinsland Stadium.
CROSS COUNTRY: Varsity Braves win team event at Eagles Meet
The Cherokee Braves varsity cross country team took first place at the Hiwassee Dam Eagle Meet held at the Murphy High School XC Course in Murphy on the afternoon of Wednesday, Sept. 29.
Cherokee youth giving triathlon a go
The sport of triathlon is a tough discipline that involves swimming, cycling, and running combined into one race. Dvdaya, Ogana, and Uweluga Swimmer and Joscelyn and Cambry Stamper, all members of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, participated in the Sugar Creek Youth Triathlon in Greer, S.C. in early September.
