The Nikwasi Initiative non-profit organization will soon have the deed and responsibility over a sacred Cherokee mound in Macon County.
Senate Committee holds hearing on Catawba “casino” bill
The Catawba Indian Nation, based in Rock Hill, S.C., is seeking a casino near Kings Mountain, and a Senate bill would help pave the way for them to open up for business.
