Chairperson Saunooke drops out of School Board race
Cherokee School Board Chairperson Charlotte Saunooke announced on Monday, July 22 that she is dropping out of the Painttown School Board race. She has notified the EBCI Board of Elections of her decision.
5-year Tribal Health Assessment presented at Health Board
EBCI Public Health & Human Services Secretary Vickie Bradley presented the 2018 Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians Tribal Health Assessment (THA), which came out last month, at the Health Board meeting held on Wednesday, July 17.
Tribal Court Docket for July 25
This is a criminal docket date for the Cherokee Tribal Court. All of the defendants listed have only been charged with the crimes/offenses listed and should be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

UPS Foundation grants $160,000 to American Indian College Fund
The American Indian College Fund received $150,000 from The UPS Foundation to provide scholarships for tribal college students and $10,000 in support of The Flame of Hope Gala, which raises money for scholarships.
Ford Motor Company Fund awards $60,000 to American Indian College Fund
Ford Motor Company Fund has awarded a $50,000 grant to the American Indian College Fund for Native student scholarships through the Ford Motor Company Blue Oval Scholars Program and an additional $10,000 to support the American Indian College Fund’s Flame of Hope Gala on Oct. 10 which raises money for student scholarships.
