CIPD Arrest Report for Sept. 9-16, 2019
The following people were arrested by the Cherokee Indian Police Department and booked into the Anthony Edward Lossiah Justice Center. It should be noted that the following defendants have only been charged with the crimes listed and should be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Addresses and those files with no charge data have been redacted.

Council approves establishment of Cannabis Commission
The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) is a step closer to establishing a cannabis business for the Tribe as Tribal Council approved legislation (Res. No. 731-2019) establishing a Cannabis Commission.

Missing beloved pet
Gizzy, a male Chihuahua mix, went missing from the upper Wrights Creek Fork area this past week. He does not have a collar on. If you see him or have any information on where he might be, please call Nonnie Crowe 497-7990. He is really missed.
