The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) and South College Asheville (SCA) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 4 that tribal officials hope will encourage more tribal members to enter the health care field.

FOOTBALL: Braves are ready for successful season
In a scrimmage game this past week, Braves running back J.J. Benjamin dropped his shoulder to the right, stutter-stepped to the left and completely faked out a Gatlinburg-Pittman linebacker to the point he had to turn around to see what was going on.
VOLLEYBALL: Young team looking to gel with team spirit
Volleyball is one of the quintessential team sports, and everyone must gel for it to be successful. This year’s varsity and junior varsity volleyball squads are not the most experienced, but they have the team spirit that can make champions.
CROSS COUNTRY: Coach Swimmer optimistic about season
Cross country, although a team sport, is very much an individual effort, and Eddie Swimmer, head coach of the Cherokee varsity and middle school teams, is optimistic about those efforts this season.
