What began as a routine piece of legislation turned into a discussion on the future of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians’ (EBCI) association with USET (United South and Eastern Tribes).
Tribe to hold referendum on Council term limits, staggered terms
Council approved Res. No. 11 (2021) unanimously during an Annual Council session on Monday, Oct. 11 that calls for three questions regarding term limits to be posed to the voters which would result in a change to the EBCI Charter and Governing Document.
