Update on the EBCI Tribal Portal
Over the last few months, the EBCI (Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians) Executive staff and Tribal Council met with Kevin Jackson, EBCI Information Technology (IT) director, and members of his team to examine a beta test of the upcoming EBCI Tribal Member Portal currently undergoing development since November 2023.

Secretary Bradley appointed to state medicine board
A tribal health official has been appointed as a member of the Board of Directors for the N.C. Institute of Medicine (NCIOM). Gov. Roy Cooper announced the appointment of Vickie Bradley, a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) and the Secretary of the EBCI Public Health and Human Services (PHHS) division, on Friday, Jan. 7.
Jones-Bowman Leadership Award Program presents Totsuwa: Winter Walk and Read
Every year, the Jones-Bowman fellows are tasked with the creation and execution of a group service project. The 2021-22 Jones-Bowman fellows are Nolan Arkansas, Juanita Paz-Chalacha, Zoie Lambert, Kevonna Tushka, Colby Taylor, and Levi West.

FOOTBALL: Three Braves sign letters of intent
Thousands of scholar-athletes signed college letters of intent on National Signing Day on Wednesday, Feb. 6. Three Cherokee Braves signed to play football at the next level including Damian Blanton (Brevard College), Isaiah Evans (Gardner-Webb University), and Joaquin Layno (Western Carolina University) during a ceremony at the Charles George Memorial Arena.
