CHS 2016-17 Wrestling Schedule

Tye Mintz, Braves sophomore quarterback, accounted for over 300 yards of total offense in a first round playoff loss at Andrews on Friday, Nov. 13.

Darius Lambert, freshman member of the Cherokee High School cross country team, has been lighting up courses all year long. He finished his season with a bang by placing fourth overall at the 1A State Championship meet at Ivey Redmon Sports Complex in Kernersville on Saturday, Nov. 7.

The Cherokee Braves (4-7) finished the 2015 regular season with a strong victory over the hosting Hayesville Yellow Jackets (3-8) on Friday, Nov. 6 with a final score of 45-28.

Cherokee’s Darius Lambert, Smoky Mountain Conference runner-up, took sixth place at the 1A West Regional Cross Country meet held at Asheville Christian on Saturday, Oct. 31 with a time of 17:18.62.

The final score didn’t reflect it, but it was a close game until about five minutes left as the Cherokee Braves (3-7) hosted the Robbinsville Black Knights (7-2) at Ray Kinsland Stadium on Friday, Oct. 30.

The Cherokee Fitness Complex Powerlifting Team traveled to Yadkinville on Saturday, Oct. 10 to compete in the IronBoy Powerlifting Nationals Event.

The Cherokee Braves (3-6) put on an air assault at Andrews (4-6) on Friday, Oct. 23, but turnovers and missed extra points were costly as they lost to the Wildcats 41-30.
