WCU captures title of ‘top adventure college’ in magazine poll
Results from an online poll have been tallied, and Western Carolina University has been announced as the No. 1 college for outdoor adventure in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic by a leading outdoors magazine.

The John A Crowe Recreation Complex and the Cherokee Central Schools baseball fields held the 2014 Native American Youth Organization (NAYO) baseball/softball tournament Thursday, July 17 through Saturday, July 19.
GOLF: PGA Pro-Am held at Sequoyah National
PGA professionals and golf amateurs from all over the Carolinas converged on The Sequoyah National Golf Club on Monday, July 14 and Tuesday, July 15 for the National Car Rental PGA Pro-Am Series golf tournament. The tournament attracted 33 PGA professionals and 99 amateur golfers to compete in the two-day event.

The Bahe family, who live in Chinle, Ariz. on the Navajo Nation, are dedicated to the sport of boxing. They are also dedicated to and very proud of their Navajo and Eastern Band Cherokee heritage.
WRESTLING: Swearengin signs a scholarship with Bacone College
Cherokee Braves wrestling standout Levi Swearengin signed a scholarship agreement on Tuesday, June 17 in Muscogee, Okla. to wrestle next season at Bacone College.
