CCS School Board holds Sept. 16 meeting
The School Board of Cherokee Central Schools (CCS) met on Monday, Sept. 16, in the Central Office Board Room. The meeting was called to order at 4:47 p.m. by Chairperson Jennifer Thompson.
Connecting to Kuwohi: Students learn history in special event
As the sun glistened off of the clouds hanging in the valley at Kuwohi, mulberry place, on the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 10, students were learning about the history of the site that is special to the Cherokee people.
Letts honored by Dinilawigi
Resolution No. 294 (2024) was taken up by Dinilawigi (Tribal Council) in its Thursday, Sept. 5 session and called for the addition of recognition for Mary Jane Letts as a visionary and collaborator with Susan Bradley Jones in redesigning the Oconaluftee Island Park.
