Dinilawigi approves resolutions seeking land into trust
The Dinilawigi (Tribal Council) of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) approved five resolutions during its regular session on Thursday, Aug. 7 that seek to take multiple tracts of property into trust for the Tribe.

Area dance studio under new ownership by an EBCI member
Brittany Fuller, a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians from Tsisqwohi (Birdtown), has recently taken over ownership of two local dance studios in Bryson City, N.C. and Robbinsville, N.C., formerly known as Pirouettes Dance and Cheer Academy. Under the new ownership, the studios have been renamed Leap of Faith Performing Arts.

The Cherokee Braves (4-3) picked up a big win over Andrews (5-2) on the road on the evening of Friday, Oct. 15. Don Bradley, Braves senior quarterback, ran for two touchdowns to give the Braves a 12-9 win.
FOOTBALL: Braves top Black Knights; now tied for second in conference
The Cherokee Braves (3-3) moved into a four-way tie for second place in the Smoky Mountain Conference with a win over the Robbinsville Black Knights (3-3) on Friday, Oct. 8.
JV FOOTBALL: Braves finish season with victory over Maroon Devils
The Cherokee JV Braves finished the season on a good note with a 20-0 win over the Swain Co. Maroon Devils on the drizzly night of Thursday, Oct. 7 at Ray Kinsland Stadium.
