Tribe to file lawsuit against opioid distributors
In August, the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians declared the opioid crisis a public nuisance. Now, the Tribe is filing litigation on the matter.
CIPD asking for community help on two fatalities
The Cherokee Indian Police Department issued two requests for help from the community on Wednesday, Oct. 18 involving two fatalities in Cherokee – one in September and another in August.
Revisions to Tribal Member Loan Assistance Program announced
Principal Chief Richard G. Sneed has approved revised policies and guidelines authorizing the Treasury Division of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians to improve the per capita loan assistance program for tribal members.
