Savannah Stiles, an EBCI tribal member and a junior at Cherokee High School ,is a member of the National Young Leaders Council and spent her spring break at the annual National Young Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C.  The NYLC is designed to instruct and enrich promising students in a hands-on, experiential atmosphere while preparing them for a lifetime of leadership.  During this time, Stiles had the opportunity to meet with Senator Richard Burr (R-NC) and Representative Heath Shuler (D-NC), shown with stiles, as well as impromptu press meetings with the White House Press Secretary.  The students that make up the NYLC are nominated by teachers and selected by a committee within the Congressional Youth Leadership Council.  She is the daughter of Doug and Trina Wade formerly of the 3200 Acre Tract Community.
