Senate passes legislation to aid justice for missing and murdered natives
A bill to aid law enforcement in the location and prosecuting cases of missing and murdered Native American women and girls passed in the senate Dec. 6. Both the chair and vice chair of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs hailed its passage. The Office of Tribal Prosecutor also praised its passage.

Seven members of the Cherokee Runners group completed the 35th Marine Corps Marathon in Washinton, DC on Oct. 31 and another six completed the 10K race held the same day.
Black Knights demolish Braves
Eight turnovers were costly to the Braves as the Robbinsville Black Knights defeated them 63-13 on Friday, Nov. 5. Cherokee lost seven fumbles and threw one interception while the Black Knights only had one turnover on an interception.
