Jackson County reports fifth COVID-19 death in county
The Jackson County Department of Public Health (JCDPH) has confirmed that a recent death in a Jackson County resident is related to COVID-19, bringing the total COVID-19 deaths in the county to five.

Warriors raise money for Children’s Home, in traditional way
The Warriors of Anikituwah saw a need within the community, and they’re trying to do their part to help. During the recent Cherokee Voices Festival at the Museum of the Cherokee Indian, the Warriors raised $511 that they will donate to help with the construction of the new Cherokee Children’s Home.
Forest Service announces Ginseng Permit Process for 2015
The U.S. Forest Service, National Forests in North Carolina announced that forest visitors have until Wednesday, July 15 to submit their contact information to a Nantahala or Pisgah National Forest district office if they want to participate in the lottery to receive a ginseng harvest permit this year.
