Cherokee School Board discusses lower budget projection
While no cuts have been proposed, the Cherokee Central School Board discussed a lower budget projection for the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) during its meeting on the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 5.
Scare-O-Kee planning is in full swing
The Scare-O-Kee planning committee, headed up by Mollie Grant, met again on Wednesday, Aug. 30 to continue preparations. Several entities participated in the meeting including the Cherokee Indian Police Department, EBCI (Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians) Emergency Services, EBCI Facilities Management, EBCI Communications, EBCI Destination Marketing, and the Cherokee Water and Sewer Department.

A ribbon was cut to open officially the Cherokee Tribal Foods Distribution & Tribal Cannery Center in Cherokee, N.C. on the afternoon of Tuesday, Aug. 29.

EBCI Family Safety Program celebrates fifth anniversary
On Oct. 1, 2015, the Family Safety Program became the child welfare and adult protective services program of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI). The Family Safety Program took over jurisdiction from North Carolina Department of Social Services for any child welfare or adult protective matter arising on tribal trust land.

Any devil’s only real authority over people is not in what a demon can actually do to them, but it’s, more about the effect the demon, through some diabolical deception, or scheming ruse, or plan, which can have on a person in either allowing it or in doing something themselves.
COMMENTARY: Don’t let yourself be silenced.
One of the issues that recurs when we, the public, are informed about banishments, is that we do not receive much more than a name and a birth date when it comes to banished individuals.
