School Board discusses policy change and appeal.
The Cherokee Central Schools (CCS) Board of Education convened on Monday, Sept. 18 for a regularly scheduled meeting. All board members were in attendance, except the two Tribal Council representatives. Chairwoman Dr. Jennifer Thompson called the meeting to order and asked Regina Rosario to lead in prayer.
Vending machines aim to improve access to health supplies for tribal members
Vending machines have been installed around tribal lands of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) in an effort to improve access to health and wellness supplies. All of the products in the machines are only for EBCI tribal members and are available free of charge.
Technology and cannabis were discussed at the monthly Cherokee Police Commission meeting.

It is easy to forget when you look at all the beauty in nature that there are some pretty nasty environmental issues in the wild. I am not talking about the manmade messes we bring in and leave.
