Circle of Security program looks to equip Cherokee parents
Anatta Harding was desperately looking for some help while she and her son were adjusting to a move to Cherokee. More than anything she was trying to find a Circle of Security program, a guided group that focuses on improving ‘the development pathway of children and their parents’. Harding had gone through the program twice before.

Mary Ann Jacobs, age 87, of Cherokee N.C., passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023. She was born on May 5, 1935, in Chicago, Ill. She lived in Cherokee; Suitland, Md.; and Chandler, Ariz. before returning to the mountains with her husband Harvey in 1998.
