Ray Kinsland Leadership Institute awarded CPF grants totaling $332K
The Ray Kinsland Leadership Institute (RKLI) has received two grants for programming from the Cherokee Preservation Foundation totaling over $332,000.
EBCI receives $4.99 million EPA grant
The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) has received an almost $5 million Climate Pollution Reduction Grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). In all, $300 million was awarded to 33 federally recognized tribes and one U.S. territory out of 110 applications.

SPEAKING OF FAITH: 2024: “Now” Words to Live By
The new year, 2024, is not so much to be about our country and all of what we are seeing that transpires in it. It is to be more about our own faith beliefs concerning our own lives, such as saying, “I am now a saved saint, according to and by the Most High God I am the Righteousness of God, in Christ Jesus.”
Faith Commentary: Hens and chicks
I am a father of two children who are now adults. They have given me three grandchildren. I have memories of the times my children have been hurt or became ill. I know how I felt when I could comfort them and soothe their hearts. God loves us more. He loves with a love only God can give. Only He can heal the sin-sick heart. May we never forget God’s love for us and His ability to comfort us and save us when we let Him.
COMMENTARY: Shut them up!
Some folks have some interesting takes on free speech. They will rail on someone’s opinion, then insist that the person’s opinion be removed from public view. Then, they get upset when their personal attack is removed from public view.
