Several senior members of the Cherokee Braves varsity football team have been named to different All-Star game rosters.

   Jordan Maney, a senior member of the Cherokee Lady Braves varsity volleyball team, has been named Honorable Mention All-Big Smoky Mountain Conference. 

Tye Mintz, Braves senior quarterback, accounted for 433 total yards and seven touchdowns as Cherokee (12-1) bested Thomas Jefferson (11-2) by a score of 47-20 in a regional semi-final game at Ray Kinsland Stadium on the chilly evening of Friday, Nov. 24. 

Cherokee bested Union Academy in a high-scoring affair to advance to the third round of the 1A state playoffs. 

This year’s Cherokee Lady Braves varsity basketball team is not the tallest team out there, but what they lack in stature they more than make up for in grit, determination, and unity. 

The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians was well represented at the N.C. Senior State Games this year.  Medals were won in many various sports including track and field, basketball, shuffleboard, bocci ball, bowling, golf, and more.
