Cherokee High School hosted the annual Osley B. Saunooke Wrestling Invitational on Tuesday, Dec. 22.

The Cherokee Lady Braves will travel to Landrum, SC next week to compete in a basketball tournament.  Below is the preliminary bracket:

Jacob George, an EBCI tribal member, scored 11 points to help lead Smoky Mountain past Franklin 66-47 on Monday, Dec. 21.

Cherokee High School varsity came home with a second place trophy and several top place winners at a wresting meet in Lexington, NC on Saturday, Dec. 12.

The Cherokee High School Wrestling team competed in the Bearcat Challenge in Hendersonville on Saturday, Dec. 12.

After taking 6th place at the Swiss Bear Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, CHS won two straight matches on Tuesday.

The Cherokee Braves opened their 2009 basketball season at .500 with a season-opening 59-47 loss to Tuscola and an away win (61-47) against Highlands.

The Cherokee Lady Braves are off to a good start this basketball season.
