Braves QB signs with Carson-Newman
The Carson-Newman Eagles will have a Brave on their roster next season. Jesse Blanton, who played quarterback and defensive back for Cherokee this past season, signed a letter of intent on Wednesday, Feb. 2 to play football at the school.
Braves 8-6 overall, 5-4 in conf.
The Cherokee Braves are 8-6 overall and 5-4 in the Smoky Mountain Conference as of Jan. 28.
Lady Braves 8-1 in Conference Play
The Cherokee Lady Braves are currently 8-1 in the Smoky Mountain Conference and 14-3 overall.
Tribal Members compete in Jui Jitsu Tournament
Jerico French and Landon French, both EBCI tribal members, entered their first Brazilian Jui Jitsu Grappling Tournament on Saturday, Jan. 29 at the Grady Cole Center.

WRESTLING: Forfeits help Swain top Cherokee
Six forfeits cost the Cherokee Braves varsity wrestling team as they fell to Swain 59-22 at Swain County High School on Thursday, Jan. 27. Swain edged Cherokee 4-3 in the matches that were contested.
WRESTLING: CMS Braves defeat Swain
The Cherokee Middle School wrestling team defeated Swain Middle 57-30 on Thursday, Jan. 27 at Swain County High School.
