WRESTLING: CMS Braves defeat Swain

                BRYSON CITY – The Cherokee Middle School wrestling team defeated Swain Middle 57-30 on Thursday, Jan. 27 at Swain County High School.  All 30 of Swain’s points came from Cherokee forfeits due to not having a wrestler at that weight.  The Braves won seven matches by forfeit, two pins and one by decision. 

83lb. – Michael George (Ch) won by forfeit

93lb. – Ethan Swearengin (Ch) won by forfeit

103lb. – Graham Allen (S) won by forfeit

112lb. – Austin Padilla (Ch) won by forfeit

119lb. – Jarron Bradley (Ch) pinned Brandon Phillips (S) at the 1:47 mark

125lb. – Jordan Cody (S) won by forfeit

130lb. – Treanie Arch (Ch) won by forfeit

135lb. – Tristan Flying (Ch) won by forfeit

140lb. – Taylor Orros (S) won by forfeit

152lb. – Jace Girty (Ch) pinned James Butler (S) at the 3:25 mark

160lb. – Caleb Woodard (S) won by forfeit

171lb. – Taylor Davis (Ch) won by forfeit

189lb. – Isiah Myers (S) won by forfeit

215lb. – Dakota Ward (Ch) won by forfeit

285lb. – Shepard Martin (Ch) won by decision (6-4) over Canaan Sellers (S)
