WRESTLING: Tribal Member wins Jr. High State Championship
Spencer McCoy, an EBCI tribal member at Robbinsville Middle School, won the North Carolina Jr. High State Championship Wrestling Tournament held at Wake Forest Univ. in Winston Salem on Saturday, Feb. 12.
WRESTLING: Two CMS Braves place at State
Two Cherokee Middle School wrestlers placed at the North Carolina 7th, 8th, and 9th Grade State Wrestling Championships held in Winston-Salem on Feb. 12. Taylor Davis, 8th grade, took 3rd place in the 173lb. division and Raymond Taylor, 9th grade, took 3rd place in the 215lb. division.

Assistant Secretary – Indian Affairs Larry Echo Hawk announced on Wednesday, Feb. 9 that the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) schools will participate in the Presidential Active Lifestyle Award (PALA) Challenge inspired by the First Lady’s Let’s Move! initiative and commemorating the Let’s Move! one year anniversary.
