School Board discusses policy change and appeal.

The Cherokee Central Schools (CCS) Board of Education convened on Monday, Sept. 18 for a regularly scheduled meeting. All board members were in attendance, except the two Tribal Council representatives. Chairwoman Dr. Jennifer Thompson called the meeting to order and asked Regina Rosario to lead in prayer.

A member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians has been selected to a position in an organization that is at the forefront of Indian Gaming.  Ericka Panther was chosen recently as a new compliance officer for the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) for the Washington, D.C. region.
