Leading the way: Cherokee to receive 15 more electric school buses
In March 2022, the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) received the first electric school bus in the State of North Carolina. Now the Cherokee Boys Club (CBC), the EBCI tribal entity that operates the school buses for the Cherokee Central Schools system (CCS), will receive 15 more thanks to federal funding that has been announced.

The Cherokee Indian Hospital Authority has announced that Marcheta Campbell has joined Tsali Care Center as the new facility administrator.
Tribal Councils upholds Ethics Review Committee decision, fines enrolled member $4,000
On Jan. 4, 2024, the Tribal Council of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) approved Resolution 4386 to adopt the Ethics Investigation Report dated Aug. 3, 2023, issued by the Office of Internal Audit and Ethics in Case No. 2023-1-63, regarding Jeremy Wilson, and imposing sanctions.

COMMENTARY: Turn your radio on.
The tribe needs a radio station. Many think that AM and FM radio are antiquated, a thing of the past that has outlived its purpose. In a world where information is increasingly a pay-to-access proposition, AM/FM radio broadcasts remain available to anyone with a receiver. In vehicles, it may be the only immediate access to emergency information there is.
