The late Lt. Col. Kina Swayney received numerous awards and commendations during her 24-year distinguished military career, and now she has received the highest designation within the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.
Coach Briggs named Honorary Member of Tribe
Kent Briggs, Cherokee Braves head football coach, led his team to a state title this past season, and now he has another title.

CMS Crowns Queen and Princess
Students at Cherokee Middle School selected the 2009 CMS Queen and Princess last week. Selena Torres was named CMS Queen during halftime of the JV Braves game on Thursday, Oct. 8.
