CCS School Board holds meeting on March 18
The School Board of Cherokee Central Schools (CCS) met on Monday, March 18 in the Central Office Board Room. The meeting was called to order at 4:44 p.m. by Chairperson Jennifer Thompson.

The School Board of Cherokee Central Schools (CCS) met on Monday, March 4, 2024, in a joint, special called meeting with the School Board of Swain County Schools (SCS) in the Swain East Media Center. The meeting was called to order at 4:52 p.m. by SCS Board Member Cody White and CCS Chairperson Jennifer Thompson.

A long-time employee of the Cherokee Senior Citizens Program has been honored by having a building named after her.

Aria Foerst, a senior at Cherokee High School, will continue her volleyball career next year at Ferrum College. She signed a letter of intent during an event at the Charles George Memorial Arena on the morning of Monday, March 14.
Youth wrestling tournament to be held at Harrah’s Cherokee
This journey takes its next step in Cherokee with the YONA Youth Wrestling Championship. This wrestling event is planned for March 5 and 6 and will be the first of its kind held at the Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Convention Center.
