New state law will establish certification process for Cherokee language teachers
A double-faceted bill passed the North Carolina General Assembly on Monday, June 11 that will be a game-changer for the way fluent Cherokee speakers work in the classroom to teach their language.
Boys Club’s printing service closing, leaving legacy
The printing service of the Cherokee Boys Club, open since the early 1980s, has been hit by the global downturn of the print industry. It will close operations on Friday, June 29.
New law allows school districts to transfer land to the Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation
A new bill signed into law Tuesday, June 12 now allows Oklahoma School districts to transfer surplus land to the Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation. Transferring surplus land will allow communities to grow and help their local school districts.
