COMMENTARY:  Keep your pets safe and out of hot cars

By now, I’m sure you’ve heard of the tragic death of the 22-month-old Atlanta boy who died after being left in a hot car by his father. While the events that led up to that tragedy are for a jury to decide, the thought of leaving a child in a car on a hot day is unthinkable to most of us.

Cherokee has many memorial grounds and cemeteries. These parcels of land contain the remains of our loved ones and mark a part of our family histories. I think we, each person in the Tribe, owe it to the memories of those who have passed to maintain these memorial sites.
