CIPD Arrest Report for Sept. 9-16, 2019
The following people were arrested by the Cherokee Indian Police Department and booked into the Anthony Edward Lossiah Justice Center. It should be noted that the following defendants have only been charged with the crimes listed and should be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Addresses and those files with no charge data have been redacted.

Council approves establishment of Cannabis Commission
The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) is a step closer to establishing a cannabis business for the Tribe as Tribal Council approved legislation (Res. No. 731-2019) establishing a Cannabis Commission.

By now, I’m sure you’ve heard of the tragic death of the 22-month-old Atlanta boy who died after being left in a hot car by his father. While the events that led up to that tragedy are for a jury to decide, the thought of leaving a child in a car on a hot day is unthinkable to most of us.
